The Hong Kong Wetland Park presents our winter signature event “Bird Watching Festival 2019/20”. Come to greet the charming birdies, and learn more about their special “tricks” in parenting, as well as the subtle balance of nature!.

If you want to enrich your knowledge on bird watching, don’t miss out our “Wetland Classroom: Birds” which comprises “Waterbird Survey” and “Bird Study” sessions. Participants may join different session(s) according to their own interest.

In “Waterbird Survey”, participants can learn and try their hands on collecting waterbird ecological data. Those who have completed the “Waterbird Survey Beginners’ Class” will be invited to join the “International Black-faced Spoonbill Census 2020”.

The “Bird Study Intermediate Class” is tailored for participants who have some basic knowledge of bird watching and are eager to enhance their skills in bird identification and the use of field guides and equipment.

Payment method: Cash, Octopus*, EPS and cheque (payable to “The Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region”) will be accepted.* The Park does not provide add value service for Octopus. The nearest add value machines are at Tin Sau and Wetland Park Light Rail Stations.# Concession includes children aged 3 to 17, full-time students, people with disabilities (PWD), one accompanying carer of a PWD (not applicable to multi-entry passes) and senior citizens aged 65 or above.

Arrangements Under Inclement Weather Conditions

  1. Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No.8 or above: The HKWP will be closed. It will be reopened 2 hours after the signal is lowered. The HKWP will remain closed for the day if the signal remains hoisted at 2 pm.
  2. Black Rainstorm Warning:
    1. If the warning is issued before the opening hour, the HKWP will be closed. It will be reopened 2 hours after the warning is cancelled. The HKWP will remain closed for the day if the warning remains hoisted at 2 pm.
    2. If the warning is issued during the opening hours, the Visitor Centre will remain open until closing hour or the condition is safe for visitors to leave the Park.
  3. If Black Rainstorm Warning is issued during the HKWP opening hours, the Visitor Centre will remain open but the Wetland Reserve will be closed temporarily. All education activities and guided tours at the Wetland Reserve will be cancelled while other indoor activities will continue. The Wetland Reserve will be reopened after the Warning is lowered.
