Discovering my favourite restaurant of each style in a city is part of my exploring tasks at the very beginning when I go to a new city.
Dianping
Dianping is one of the apps that helped me a lot in discovering restaurants and making reservation. I don’t need to ask people around about where to go for a date. I don’t need to keep calling and calling the busy restaurant and hear them telling me that no seat is available at the end any more.
If you’ve already had a restaurant in mind, here is a step-by-step guideline for your reference.
- Put the name in the search engine and it will pop out.
- Once you go to the restaurant’s page, you will see some of the signs on it as below. You can check rating, average spend and click the photo album to see some pictures. Sometimes if the restaurant doesn’t accept any of the services, the sign won’t be on the page.
- Click the button of Reservation and you will go to a reservation page as below. All the required information are just the amount of people, your appointment time, your phone number and how to address you.
Once you send out the reservation, you will receive a text message telling you whether your request is accepted or not. ( You can screenshot the message, send to Ringy and have one of our interpreters to translate it for you. )
If you are exploring the city as I am, I guess you would like to know how to discover somewhere new.
- Simply put the region of where you are going in the search engine of Dianping. Pinyin is also recognizable! Choose the one with the most search results. Let’s take a quick look at the example below. You will choose the first one with 9310 results.
- Now narrow the search.
1) Narrow the search to categories by clicking” All catergories”.
Then choose the type of restaurant you are looking for.
2) Click “Sort by your favorite” and choose one subject that you want the app to sort by.
3) Click “Filter”, narrow the search to their online service.
Tap multiple features you would like and click “Enter”.
Now all the restaurants shown up must meet your requests!
Choose one among them, either continue to make a reservation, call for delivery, get in a taxi and show them the restaurant address or clike the address and walk there by following the GPS if it’s nearby!
