Prince: Your New Neighborhood Bar In Shuiwan

Prince bar has a lot of things going for it. It is located just a few minutes walk from Shuiwan metro station. Surrounded by offices and apartments, it could be the neighborhood bar that the area has been crying out for. The bar has an open wooden decking with stylish white umbrellas offering cover. There are seats up at the bar and plenty of tables too. Taking a look around, I’m reminded of the neighborhood bars you find in places like Kennedy Town in Hong Kong.

For a snug and small bar, Prince has a wide selection when it comes to beer. There are 20 taps promoting both local and international craft brewers, from Catfish Brewing Co., from Hangzhou to Stone Brewing from California. They also have fridges full of bottled beer, offering an even wider selection from around the world. Local efforts from Liberty Brewing Co. and Bionic Brew come highly recommended.

I had come to Prince expecting good beer. What I didn’t expect was for the BBQ food to be as amazing as it was. All the meat and vegetables are fresh, with the chickens prepared earlier that same day, and they use an interesting mix of seasonings and sauces when barbecuing. The final result is less Chinese Street BBQ and more Japanese Yakitori.

Prince has all the makings of a great neighborhood bar; right next to the subway, a terrace view, a large selection of rotating taps and bottles, and some of the best BBQ around.
