Snakes in Shenzhen…

A normal night for me in Shenzhen. I had just fed my dog and it was time for our nightly walk up the street. As I was passing one of the entrances to the golf course where I live, I heard the combination of the scream of a female security guard and the heavy steps of a male guard running out of the driveway with something on his umbrella. The guard flicked the umbrella and down came a striped coiled serpent looking not too pleased. Only two things rattle me, spiders and snakes. It makes sense that there would be some but I had never seen one in Shenzhen aside from at a few restaurants. Anyway, the guard made quick work of it. He used a plastic “Caution: Wet Floot” sign to dismember the snake which the female security guard told me was a little venomous. So be careful out there. We live in a tropical area with lots of interesting animals and insects. Oh and sorry, snakes will not be on the MyShufu catalog of products.
