About Shekou’s New Cruise Ship Port
The homeport of Shekou’s new cruiseships is Prince Bay. A new development which hopes to become the only modern international homeport in Southern China. There will be 2 berths to accommodate 2 vessels at once. The bigger one can fit in the largest cruise ship in the world, which is more than 225,000GT and the other one can accommodate cruise ships up to 120,000GT. Prince Bay is expected to become the sea linkage between Shenzhen and Hong Kong, and a window to the world.
About the Cruise Ships
The cruises will be managed by Silversea from Rome, Italy. They have been focusing on high-end cruise service and experience since 1994. They are the largest cruise company with 8 luxury cruise ships, including 5 ultra-luxury cruises and 3 ultra-luxury expedition products, transversing seven continents.
The first ship to sail out of Prince Bay in Shekou is the Silver Shadow of Silversea. It is a 610-foot/186-meter, 7-deck luxury cruise ship that can accomodate 380 guests. The European officers and 302 crew are trained to ensure you experience the most luxurious, prestigious and unforgettable voyage possible.
The ship was built in 2000 and is undergoing renovations now just for these voyages. There are two Owner’s Suites (up to 117 m2 and can accomodate up to 4 people), four Grand Suites (up to 133 m2 and can accomodate up to 4 people), two Royal Suites (up to 126 m2 and can accomodate up to 4 people), thirteen Silver Suites (up to 123 m2 and can accomodate up to 3 people), two Medallion Suites (49 m2 and can accomodate up to 3 people), 128 Veranda Suites (32 m2 and can accomodate up to 3 people) and 35 Terrace & Vista Suites (up to 27 m2 and can accomodate up to 3 people). The ship is registered out of the Bahamas, weighs 28,258 tons and travels at a top speed of 18.5 knots.
