The new Park Hyatt Shenzhen is stunning. With brand-new state-of-the-art facilities and world-renowned design, it stands pride of place as part of the Ping An Finance Centre complex.
From the moment you approach the entrance, you know you’re in for something special. To the left is the elevator lobby which will take you to Reception on the Sky Lobby Level. This is the hub of the hotel and the location of Living Room – the heart and soul of Park Hyatt Shenzhen. Here you can enjoy an afternoon tea unlike any other; influenced by fine dining, each of the five courses are served individually to ensure a personalised service. Alternatively, the á la carte menu provides a range of delicious international and local dishes, which provide a range of options for every palate.
Across from Living Room is Garden Pavilion, a relaxing and atmospheric restaurant with an indoor garden setting. The glass ceiling and huge picture windows provide an abundance of light, whether you are seated in the salon or in one of the private rooms. Real trees are dotted around with natural wood separating the private rooms, giving the sense of dining in a forest.
Garden Pavilion was designed to represent the garden of a Chinese scholar’s mansion – the theme of the whole hotel. The cuisine is primarily Cantonese with Sichuan and Jiangnan influences, prepared to the highest of standards with local ingredients.
For something a little more laid back, Pool Terrace on the 8th floor provides an outdoor area away from the hustle and bustle of the street. Complete with its own bar and barbeque, there couldn’t be a better venue for the warm tropical evenings. The pool lounge and pool house can be hired for special events; whether you want a party dance floor, a movie night or a kids’ playroom, they can be adapted to suit any occasion.
The pool itself is for members only – but what better reason could there be to treat yourself to a night or two away from home? The 24-hour fitness studio, luxury spa with a full range of relaxing treatments and the myriad of dining options only add to the list of reasons to escape the nine-to-five
at Park Hyatt Shenzhen.
The Glasshouse, on the 47th floor, presents a new take on classic cuisine. The focus is on service and passion, ensuring guests have a unique experience that they will want to come back for time and time again. One such special element is that a selection of dishes are prepared and presented table-side so guests can see every step of the process.
Sunday brunch is an ideal opportunity to sample the vast range of food prepared by top chefs for your enjoyment. There are three tiers of package to suit every pocket and palate, depending whether you want to accompany your food with juice, wine or champagne.
The á la carte menu has a focus on sustainable seafood, unique cuts of beef which are cooked in a Spanish charcoal oven, as well as a range of other delicacies. Every appetite can be catered for, whilst ensuring that the food is approachable and affordable yet exceptional. The kitchen is completely open with live cooking stations for the buffet, where the chefs can serve each guest personally.
The Glasshouse Bar provides the perfect location to enjoy the view and a glass of something before you make your way through to the restaurant. If you time it right, you can enjoy free-flow wine and delectable nibbles for only 198RMB++ per person 17:30-20:00 every evening. This is Park Hyatt Shenzhen’s modern alternative to a social lounge, and is open to all guests.
The 48th floor is home to the pinnacle of Park Hyatt Shenzhen – The Attic. A speakeasy style bar, The Attic has a sophisticated atmosphere and a feel-good vibe. The bar-top is decorated with dried flowers and a unique fireplace adorns the seating area at the far end of the bar. The cocktail menu is spectacular; however, if there’s too much to choose from you can always ask the highly trained mixologists to make you something exclusive.
A more secluded space with its own private bathroom and entrance, ideal for special events, adjoins The Attic and is available for hire. Of course, no speakeasy is complete without a little mystery, and the Secret Garden provides exactly that. It would be a shame to spoil the surprise, so let’s just say you’ll have to visit and see for yourself.
What sets Park Hyatt Shenzhen aside from other hotels in the area is that it prides itself on luxury – for everyone. There is a huge focus on food and beverage here, which the superb restaurants and bars are testament to.
Executive Chef Dallas Cuddy has worked in several countries around the world as well as his home country of Australia, and he has brought his extensive experience to Shenzhen. He aspires to make Park Hyatt Shenzhen one of the most respected hotels in Shenzhen, known for its excellent service, attention to detail and affordable luxury. And undoubtedly, it already is.
