WITH the aim of providing more Dapeng-related news and information to expatriate residents as well as making it much easier for them to do business and enjoy leisure time in the peninsula, Dapeng New Area has upgraded its official English-language website, dpxq.gov.cn/english/, which went live Wednesday.

The website is sponsored by the Administrative Committee of Dapeng New Area and is run by Shenzhen Daily.

Based on the original website, the revised portal, designed by Shenzhen Daily, includes seven main sections and 28 secondary sections. It uses red as its main color and adopts a compact layout with more informative pages tailored for expatriate residents and tourists.

For example, the Services section is a new section displayed prominently on the website and is designed to be a one-stop shop for expats to help them to have a better experience in Dapeng. Information about visas and residence issues as well as about hospitals, schools and cultural and sports facilities can all be found in this section.

The Service section of the upgraded English-language website of Dapeng District Online offers information on transportation, hospitals, schools, hotlines, hotels, visa application, checkpoints, residence, and cultural and sports facilities in Dapeng New Area.

The Travel section gives tourists access to information about tourist attractions, popular travel routes, traditional culture and customs, specialties, and much more.

The Travel section of the upgraded Dapeng Government Online website gives information on accommodation, travel routes, natural attractions, and cultural festival in the new area.

To better show the beauty of mountains and seas in Dapeng, its splendid history and culture, and help tourists better explore the new area, the site’s About Dapeng section features a gallery of photographs and videos showing Dapeng’s scenic spots, landmarks, and visions of its future economic and cultural development.

Additionally, there are dedicated pages presenting visitors in-depth stories, photo galleries and videos about hot events and key programs in Dapeng.

According to the latest statistics from Shenzhen Profile, Shenzhen has direct jurisdiction over nine districts and one new area: Futian, Luohu, Yantian, Nanshan, Bao’an, Longgang, Longhua, Pingshan and Guangming districts, and Dapeng New Area and all of them have English-language portals, which serve as one-stop platforms for expats and foreign tourists to know and explore the districts and new area.

By the end of 2019, the city’s permanent resident population has reached 13.44 million. With the largest number of checkpoints among Chinese cities, Shenzhen has become a main gateway in South China to the outside world.
