DUKE’S AT THE LANGHAM, SHENZHEN WINS THE THREE GLASSES AWARDS AND HALL OF FAME-THREE TIME SPECIALIST AWARD WINNERS AT CHINA’S WINE LIST OF THE YEAR AWARDS 2019

Duke’s, located on the third floor of The Langham, Shenzhen, is a renowned western restaurant in town with its refined continental menu, modern private wine cellar collection, live jazz performances and charming ambiance. Recently, Duke’s was honored once again at China’s Wine List of the Year Awards 2019, winning the Three Glasses Awards and recognised as the Hall of Fame-Three Time Specialist Award Winner (2013, 2015 and 2017). Duke’s has been a winner at this prestigious awards ceremony for seven consecutive years since 2013.

Established in 2013, China’s Wine List of the Year Awards were introduced to recognise and reward the enormous investments in time, skills and resources that go into developing the best quality wine list and creating a roadmap to the best wine list for consumers. Just like in previous years, the winners of China’s Wine List of the Year Awards 2019 were judged by a panel comprised of some of the world’s most respected international and Chinese experts. Following a round of intense competition, the wine list, curated by Ms. Julia Zhu, Beverage Director at The Langham, Shenzhen, convinced the judges to award Duke’s with the Three Glasses Awards. This year, Duke’s was also recognised as a multiple winners with China’s Wine List of the Year Awards 2019-Hall of Fame-Three Time Specialist Award Winners (2013, 2015 and 2017).

The modern private wine cellar at Duke’s is home to over 300 of the world’s best grape wines, stored at strict temperatures, and with just the right humidity and lighting. The extensive wine list provides a wide selection of options that fits all occasions and caters to different needs, from wine beginners to expert tasters. One of the few female sommeliers in South China, Ms. Julia Zhu received her qualification from the Canadian Association of Professional Sommeliers in 2003. Since joining the hotel in 2012, Julia has been on a constant lookout for premium wines from famous wineries around the world that can complement the wine list, menu and atmosphere at Duke’s to create an unforgettable experience for all guests.

While enjoying great food and wine, guests are also treated to amazing live performances by US jazz singer every night from Monday to Saturday. The soothing jazz tunes and old-world atmosphere create the perfect setting for a wonderful dining experience.
