Last month, Jing-A opened their first Shenzhen taproom over in Luohu, and this month, they’ve opened a second; this time a little closer to home – for us, anyway – in G&G Creative Community, up in Shekou.
Now, we won’t bore you by doing another deep dive into who Jing-A are, and what they do, but feel free to check out our previous article to get the low-down. For now, however, all you need to know is that they’re great people, making exceptional beer, and after a month of edging, have just opened what may be our new favourite outdoor drinking spot in the entire city…
The Beijing craft beer giants set a new standard of quality for beer bars in Shenzhen when they opened in Luohu last month, and their second instalment is no different. In fact, it’s almost exactly the same as the Luohu bar, just a tad cosier, and sporting a U-shaped bar as its focal point. Oh, and a fantastic beer garden, that as we mentioned above, may have taken our top spot for our favourite outside drinking spot.
You can go and check it out for yourselves whenever you like, as the bar technically opened a little earlier this week after around a month of edging the beer drinkers of Shenzhen… Though they’ll be hosting their official opening party tomorrow from 11am ’til late, with DJ sets, Jing-A artwork giveaways, lucky draw prizes and plenty more to get excited about!
Plus, if you weren’t already hyped enough they’ve also brewed a brand-new beer, especially for Shenzhen: The Legend of Lime – “A zesty session pale ale designed specifically for our Shenzhen fans! Xiangshui lemons from Jiangmen give this brew a citrus-forward flavour and aroma unique to Guangdong. Amarillo cascade and mosaic boost the refreshing lime background of this beer, resulting in a legendary Southern sipper“.
Jing-A hasn’t forgotten about the World Cup, either, with some massive TV screens already installed (at both venues), extended opening hours from the Last 16 rounds onward, and a 30RMB Yizhihe Session IPA deal during games for Jing-A members, too.
They’re open now from 11am every day until late (Sun-Thur 11am-12am / Fri & Sat 11am-2am), with two very enticing opening offers: you can get a FREE beer if you’re a new Jing-A Army member (sign up via the Official WeChat account at the bottom of the article) & it’s 10RMB OFF all beers & cocktails all day, every day, until Dec. 30!
