New COVID Cases and Restrictions in Bao’an

THE OH Bay Ferris wheel in Bao’an Coastal Cultural Park has suspended services starting Saturday following 11 new COVID-19 cases reported in Shenzhen, according to a notice issued by the operator yesterday.

Among the 11 new cases all reported in Bao’an District, a 31-year-old woman returned from outside of Guangdong was confirmed during a community test in Xinqiao Subdistrict. Nine others were close contacts of the woman, and another was detected in medical treatment.

The travel history of the 11 new cases covered Xinqiao, Songgang, Shajing, Fuyon and Xin’an subdistricts, according to a release from Shenzhen Municipal Health Commission on its official WeChat account.

Among them, three were confirmed COVID-19 cases and eight were diagnosed as asymptomatic cases. The patients had been transferred to Shenzhen Third People’s Hospital for treatment.

Due to the new COVID-19 flareups, ferry services between Shenzhen Airport Ferry Terminal and Zhongshan, Zhuhai was suspended from yesterday.

The sightseeing ferry service along Bao’an coast to Qianhai Bay, which was put into operation last week, was also suspended, Shenzhen Oceanus Group, the operator, said in a notice yesterday.

Bao’an District designated some areas in the urban village of Block 43 in Haile Community, Xin’an Subdistrict, as high and medium-risk areas for COVID-19 prevention and control starting Saturday.

Bao’an has imposed COVID-19 control measures in the subdistricts affected by the COVID-19 cases.

In Shajing, the community started nucleic acid tests at 8 a.m. and extended the service to midnight.
