Shenzhen Weekly Round Up – May 15: Blood, Sweat, and a Tesla Recall

Happy Monday after Mother's Day :-)

As I said last year, call your mother if you haven't already!

The expat community made local news for volunteer service once again, this time for painting activities organized for children in Longhua district. A nod and a tip-of-the-hat to our Brazilian friend Hera who donated blood for the 53rd time on the 30th anniversary of Shenzhen's Red Cross blood drive. Lastly, here's a brief piece on Tesla's recently announced recall on vehicles sold in China.

Here are some upcoming event highlights this week! Cafe Society, a new Jazz focused venue that soft opened this past weekend based in ShuiWei's 1368 Cultural Block, is teaming up with Big Bear Comedy to host an Open Mic Comedy event this Thursday. AustCham is running a tech.Talk on ChatGPT @ Residence G in Nanshan on Friday and for a little afternoon fun out on the water come Saturday, consider Pandora's Boat Party out in Huizhou (they provide a bus from Luohu).
