RESIDENTS with a yellow health code are urged to take a nucleic acid test at the nearest testing site as soon as possible. The health code will turn green after the test result comes out negative and is uploaded, the municipal health commission said yesterday.
Many people in the city’s epidemic-related areas had their health codes turned yellow yesterday as Shenzhen strengthened COVID infection screening.
According to the commission, the city has increased nucleic acid testing sites for yellow health code holders at residential compounds, who can take the tests as notified by their communities.
At present, the city has set up special nucleic acid testing areas in hospitals and subdistricts for yellow health code holders.
Citizens can inquire about the locations of the city’s nucleic acid testing sites for yellow health code holders on the commission’s WeChat account “szwjwwx” (深圳卫健委), and then select “便民服务” and “黄码核酸采样点.”
According to the commission, no appointment is needed for yellow health code holders to take a nucleic acid test. They can follow their communities’ arrangement or queue up at the testing sites that provide it during service hours.
Those who cannot go out because of health issues can stay at home and contact their communities for a nucleic acid test at their homes, the health authority said.
According to Lu Yan, a health expert from the Shenzhen Center for Disease Control and Prevention, citizens would have yellow health codes if they had traveled to or stayed in the surrounding areas or places where the recently reported confirmed COVID-19 cases or asymptomatic infections had stayed and traveled, and might have contact with the confirmed COVID cases and asymptomatic infections.
