Recently, my friend just tells me a Japanese restaurant called Rock Salt (岩塩) has been recognised by many foodies as the best Japanese Restaurant in Shenzhen. Since people always like to put the “best” for advertising purpose, I wondered how this restaurant is going to be like. We made a reservation and picked a weekday to go there. Everything went smoothly.
Rock Salt is located in JiāLi JìanShe Square（嘉里建设广场）, opposite to Futian Shangrila Hotel, surrounding by many big shopping malls such as Cocopark, Centre City (中心城) and HuangTing Square（黄庭广场）. It is very easy to get there with any transportation.
Me and my friend drove to the car park of Jiali Jianshe Square. However is not easy to find the right exit to the right building. There is three buidlings in Jiali Jianshe Square.The restaurant is located on the third floor of Jiali Jianshe Square’s third Building.
The restaurant itself does not own a large space on that floor. When I firstly find it, it looks more like a bar with western style. I thought…opps, it might not be an authentic Japanese restaurant, but another restaurant with fancy déco to burn people’s money.
We went into the restaurant and found a table near the bar. Surprisingly, I found a coffee menu on the table so I ordered one Cappuccino. 5 minutes later, the coffee was delivered to my table. It tastes very strong and creamy. I love it.
While they were making coffee, I was looking at the menu. I find Rock salt offers more options than other Japanese Restaurants in Shenzhen. They claim that all the resource used in Rock salt is sent from Japan and Australia to China. I ordered on Sashimi Combination, one sushi set and one Angus sliced Sirlon. The taste is beyond amazing. Sashimi is very fresh with beautiful presentation and for the Augus sliced sirlon, I would say it is a “must-order” dish there. Although the price is over average rate of Japanese restaurant in Shenzhen, it is worth to try when you are craving for Japanese food in Shenzhen.
