The Olé in OCT Bay is pretty cool it has a bar with draft beer. You can have a pint before you shop and end up spending twice as much money. Draft beers are around 48RMB.
The recently opened O’Plaza mall at Shenzhens impressive new leisure destination, OCT Harbour, gives locals and visitors yet another destination for mid range to luxury level shopping. The mall is quite large and also features an Aquarium (Dream Aquarium) and a play center for the kids (My Rules World).
At the time of writing (01/2014) many of the shops are yet to open but it would seem about 60% are open. Brand names include Victoria’s Secret, Baby Land, Tweenie Weenie, Vero Moda, Moiselle, Marlsfrog, Cat, Skap, iittala and many more.
Of course, in the wider area of OCT Harbour theres the IMAX movie cinema, numerous restaurants, cafes and bars. Inside the mall there is Pacific Coffee, Nordic Cafe, SimpleLife and My Coffee.
There’s also an OLE Supermarket and cellar which is an impressively modern and features many imported goods such as meats, milk, cheeses and health care. The prices are somewhat exorbitant, but hey. They also have a small area of seating where you can munch down on food such as pizza from the deli plus there’s even a bar with beer on tap.
Getting There: Go to Qiaocheng East station and walk (5 min) or catch a bus at the stop near exit C or taxi. Or, catch a bus from Window of the World, in either case the bus is B603.
