Great news for people looking to travel to Zhuhai from Shenzhen Airport and the Bao’an area in general. From Friday, there will be a new ferry service from Shenzhen Airport Ferry Terminal to Zhuhai Jiuzhou Ferry Terminal.
Operated by the Shenzhen Oceanus Group, the service will run 16 ferry journeys a day between the two cities. The service starts from 7:30 and ends at 20:00 with a ferry leaving every 90 minutes. A one-way journey costs RMB125 and takes around 60 minutes.
Until recently, getting to Zhuhai from Shenzhen Airport was something of a pain. You could take the ferry from Shenzhen Airport to Macau and then cross into Zhuhai, but that involved dealing with multiple borders as you have to leave Mainland China just to enter again. You could also take the bus or drive all the way north towards Guangzhou, cross the Humen Bridge, and then all the way south to Zhuhai, which represented going in an indirect horseshoe route rather than directly there.
With the opening of the new ferry route, there is finally a direct route to Zhuhai from the Shenzhen Airport area. It will be sure to save a lot of travel headaches for both passengers arriving at Shenzhen Airport and residents of the nearby Bao’an area.
Shenzhen Oceanus Group will run 16 ferry services between the two cities from 7:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. The first ferry will depart from Shenzhen at 8:50 a.m., with the service generally operating at 90-minute intervals.
A single trip takes 60 minutes and costs 125 yuan (US$19) per person.
