Located in Futian CBD with a gross area of 49,589 square meters, Shenzhen Library is the largest library in town. It is part of a complex that includes Shenzhen Concert Hall and Shenzhen Book City. It provides visitors with 2,500 seats, more than 2 million books and 1 million online reading materials.

For browsing purposes, you can just enter the library and grab a seat. If you want to borrow books from the library, you would have to hold a library card.

Library Card:
Bring your ID(passport) and a one inch photo to the library and fill out an application for a library card;

100 yuan deposit to borrow up to 5 Chinese books;

200 yuan deposit to borrow 1 foreign books;

Renew your card once every two years;

Applicants must be 14 and over.

Hours:
Tuesday to Sunday: 9:00 – 21:00

Metro: Line 3(Longgang) and Line 4(Longhua) to Children’s Palace(Shaoniangong).
