T Guan / T Commune

T Commune is the first western vegetarian restaurant in Shenzhen. They spent 2 years on the making of this restaurant and it looks like they spent a lot of time working on the decoration. The restaurant is surrounded by a fence and a garden full of flowers. In the garden there are ponds with coy fish swimming in it. The restaurant is split into 2 parts: one is the public area that only serves vegetarian food, and the other is the private dining area with 6 private rooms. The head chef of the main dining area is a young female from Hong Kong. The head chef of the private area is from Taiwan, who creates new menus for you to try each time you go. In general this is a large restaurant with an impressive outdoor garden area.

They try to care about all kinds of vegetarians, like buddhist vegetarian and vegan, and clearly clarify them in the menu. The staff is quite helpful and always try to answer questions when you ask them. In general this restaurant is worth checking out even if you’re not vegetarians. They try to introduce vegetarianism to the market and make it so good that even meat lovers love it. They have got close to that.

Cost is about 200 RMB per person.
